Britney! Monti a phone call away

This last week at the MTV Awards which were held at the Palms Hotel and Casino, there was a fiasco of sorts.

What happens in Vegas shouldn’t stay in Vegas. The Palms owner, George Maloof got the best press. Million of dollars couldn’t buy that action. Video Music Awards basically does not recognize our local press, and they could care less.

Let’s cut to the chase... Britney Spears. Got to admit, for a young lady who has had two children, she looks pretty good, So, enough trashing about her body. Her choice of outfits and choreography had much to be desired. Bad lip-syncing didn’t help either. Time will tell if she can or can’t come back. Britney, remember, Monti Rock III is only a phone call or email away.

Case in point: In 1968 a young Monti Rock III opened at Caesar’s Palace. Everyone came to see the young hairdresser from New York land on his face, but $14,000 a week cushioned the fall. The news media had a field day and it was played for all it was worth. Caesar’s was sued and had to pay the salary, but it took about 15 years for me to recover.

So, Britney, milk it for all it’s worth.

Britney was seen partying the night before the awards show at Pure with Sean P, or is Puff, etc. She had a meltdown backstage and fired her hair dresser. Then, the Criss Angel illusion was cancelled.

A favorite of mine, Tommy Lee, who calls ME awesome, got into it with Kid Rock. Remember they both were married to Pamela Anderson. Maybe they should catch her act with Haas Klok at Planet Hollywood. She takes this magic thing seriously and seems to be really enjoying it, claiming to have a new beau.

Now that’s magical!

The Red Carpet standouts were Alicia Keyes, Ashley Simpson, and Rihanna. Justin Timberlake won four awards and was backstage with his current love, Jessica Biel. With all the fuss over Kanye West and 50 Cent, it is truly the MTV generation. The showstopper was 18-year-old Chris Brown, an extraordinary dancer and showman. Jamie Foxx took care of the Lee-Kid action in his own inimitable way.

Over at the Hilton, I caught the Four Tenors performance and their tribute to the great Pavarotti. Clint Holmes, Jackie Baskow were among the many notables enjoying Bill Fayne and the other tenors.

The Las Vegas nightclub scene was in over-drive with all the MTV action. Lax, Pure, Light, Revolution and Blush were in full swing. Over at Planet Hollywood, David Saxe celebrates five years at the V Theater.

Word is that the new Rosie O’Donnell book coming out blasts her tenure at The View. Rosie allegedly says Barbara Walters should retire. She also takes another jab at "The Donald" and his hair. Whoopi Goldberg, The View’s latest co-anchor is doing a great job, but Rosie can do bad like no one else,

By special request, I found myself at the annual San Gennaro Festival. Lots of great food and many vendors. Tony Sacca served as MC on a lineup that included Lena Prima, Kelly Clinton and, even yours truly, Monti Rock!

The new TV season is coming up, including Dancing With The Stars and 24. Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty are adding cast members, while Jimmy Smits’ new show Cane looks like a hit,

Next week I’ll be reporting the Full Monti Fashion Police.

Emmy attendees, watch out!
