The first full weekend of NFL football also kicked off the season for the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), which for the first time ever includes U.S. operators in its pari-mutuel pool.

Last month, Nevada regulators approved Las Vegas Dissemination Company’s deal with the HKJC to allow bets made in the U.S. to be placed directly into the Club’s racing pools in Hong Kong.

The first U.S. operator to offer pari-mutuel betting on Hong Kong races is Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut.

"With LVDC set to co-operate with other prominent gaming entertainment companies in the U.S. in the future, we look forward to providing our world-class racing products to more racing fans at more authorized locations in the U.S.," said Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, chief executive officer of the Honk Kong Jockey Club.

Foxwoods, North America’s largest casino located on the Mashantucket Pequot Reservation, has signed a 5-year agreement with LVDC to simulcast Hong Kong horse racing to fans at Foxwoods and to accept bets on these races to be commingled into the pools of the Club via LVDC.

"We are extremely excited to enter into this commingling agreement with LVDC," said John O’Brien, president of Foxwoods Resort Casino. "This will provide our guests with the wonderful opportunity to see and bet on races offered by the world-renowned Hong Kong Jockey Club.

"Foxwoods will be able to offer its patrons yet another superior gaming product and racing excitement that previously could only be enjoyed if you traveled halfway around the globe," O’Brien said.
