Say it ain’t so, Joe. Say it ain’t so.

While undoubtedly still one of Las Vegas’ best bargains, Ellis Island Casino & Brewery has finally succumbed to a price increase on its famous $4.95 not-on-the-menu Steak Dinner special.

Ellis Island has held the line for more years then we can remember on this great special, but has finally upped the price to $6.99. Softening the blow, the meal now includes an Ellis Island handcrafted draft brewed beer, easily worth a buck or two more anyway.

As always, the dinner remains the same including a 10-ounce filet-cut steak, salad, vegetable, potato and dinner rolls. It is not on the menu. Ask your server for the special.

A latecomer, Silverton, has joined in the Monday Night Football parties. The casino lodge invites football fans to enjoy half-price appetizers, drink specials and the chance to win a Nintendo Wii every Monday night during football season beginning at 4 p.m. inside Hootie & the Blowfish’s Shady Grove Lounge.

The Shady Grove Lounge offers a great setting for football fans to catch the game while enjoying drink and food specials. In addition to half-price appetizers and free games of pool, football fanatics can enjoy several drink specials including $2 Bud Light drafts, $10 buckets of Bud/Bud Light, Bud Select and Land Shark bottled beer and $2 margaritas.

A multitude of prizes will be given away each Monday night including a Nintendo Wii, which patrons can play during the games, dinner for two at Mi Casa Grill Cantina, dinner for two at Seasons Buffet and complimentary appetizers and cocktails for four people at the Shady Grove Lounge.

On Dec. 17, one grand prize winner will receive a trip for four to the final Monday Night Football game in San Diego on Monday, Dec. 24. Weekly entries will be collected every Monday night.

The Salt Lick Bar B-Q inside Red Rock Casino is serving $10 draft beer pitchers and $14 buckets of beer during Monday Night Football games. You can also pig-out on the $19.95 all-you-can-eat Bar B-Q from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday nights.
