Thankfully, there’s still demand for $1.49 breakfasts

How about a $1.49 breakfast for an "on the cheap" special?

Wild Wild West, Wildfire, Gold Rush and Magic Star casinos are currently offering some great food specials this month (and possibly ongoing) including a $1.49 breakfast served from midnight to 11 a.m. The special includes two eggs, two bacon slices or sausage, hash browns, and toast.

Three additional specials include a quarter-pound burger with fries and a drink for $2.99, served from midnight to 4 p.m. or a personal pizza and a draft beer served anytime at the bars for $3.99, or a one-pound king crab leg special for $7.99, served from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays only. You must be a Wild Card club member to get the specials, but if you are not already a member, it’s free and easy to join the club.

Sadly, the famous Center Stage Restaurant, featured in the movie, "Casino" at the Plaza has closed. In its place is now "The Dome," a sports bar hangout overlooking an incredible view of the Fremont Street Experience. It’s open Thursday through Monday to catch all the viewing action and beers are offered for $2.

Dick’s Last Resort, a new restaurant now open inside the Excalibur, is another good place to be on Sunday and Monday nights this football season. Watch the biggest games on one of Dick’s 46 flat screens while you chow down on your choice of chicken wings, chili cheese dogs, hot dogs and nachos.

Catch the play-by-play action with pitchers of Miller beer ($15) or one of Dick’s signature daiquiris served in a fun football-shaped souvenir mug. A basket of chicken wings is $5 (add a pitcher of beer and its just $18 total.) Two Chili Cheese Dogs or Two Corn Dogs are also only $5. Nachos are also $5. Bottles of Miller Beer are 2-for-1 during games.

The party continues even after the last play with the band Panama treating guests to a mix of 80’s rock and popular Top 40 hits. Dick is famous for deliciously messy cuisine, zany décor, a rowdy wait staff and live bands.

Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill (9560 West Sahara Avenue) takes a unique approach to the football offerings this season with a "Build your own $3 Bloody Mary Bar." For $3, football enthusiasts can tackle their thirst during games by making their own Bloody Mary from a bar with a variety of options.

To make their drinks, fans can pick any of Z’Tejas top-shelf vodkas. Next, flavor your cocktail by choosing pre-made mixes that range from mild to caliente and add a little spice with savory sauces. Finally, to complete the drink, garnish with vegetables such as, peppers, hot peppers, jalapeños, spicy asparagus, green beans, limes or lemons. Interesting, and only $3!

Until next time, "Eat well, play well and stay well!"
