There’s another Gold Rush coming to Nevada, and you don’t need a pick ax to play — just a pocketful of coins. The new video slot game is called Yukon Gold and it was recently approved for play in Nevada casinos.

The 5-reel, 9-line video slot from WMS Gaming has a California Gold Rush theme complete with miners, maps, bandits, barmaids and a frontier-style saloon soundÂítrack. You’ll be able to play the games in slant-top and upright cabinet machines, and the game will be available in 9, 18, 45 and 90 coin versions.

With five animated reels and nine paylines, players will find many opportunities to ring up payoffs. The amusing reel symbols include Sammy D. Miller, his faithful sidekick Jack K. Asse, barmaid and cheerleader Vanessa A. Barmaid, and Biff D. Bandit, the villain of the game.

During reel spins, a first screen Chuck Wagon scatter bonus may occur. This happens when two or more wagon reel symbols appear in any position on the reels when they stop. A saloon-style player piano heralds the bonus, cuing the player to get ready for the Chuck Wagon.

In the bonus mode, you choose between three different wagons that appear as pop up symbols in front of the reels. The sound of a cracking whip snaps the cover off the wagon, revealing the bonus multiplier.

The exciting Mining Map bonus is triggered when three or more Yukon gold logos line up on a payline. The bonus starts with the screen displaying 20 tiles on a billboard in the center of the screen, with the game characters standing on either side.

The player then touches a tile to reveal a symbol that the player has to match. Matching three of any of the symbols removes them from the billboard, revealing part of the mining map. It also gives you a pick on the map. You continue to select files as you try to uncover matches, while trying to avoid matching three bandit tiles. If you find a “wild” tile, it can be used to complete matches.

When all the matches are completed, the mining map is completely exposed and the picks you’ve accumulated throughout the bonus round are now applied to picking spots anywhere on the mining map. Depending on what spot you get, the multiplier will be anywhere from 10 to 2,000 times the line bet.

Yukon Gold will soon be available for play at Sam’s Town, The Orleans, Luxor, Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, Boulder Station, Four Queens, Sunset Station and Treasure Island.
