Give thanks for those holiday specials!

Ready for Thanksgiving? Local restaurants and casinos are gearing up for a big holiday weekend in the Las Vegas Valley. For those who would rather dine out on the holiday, there are good specials everywhere to help you celebrate.

There are too many choices to list them all, but here is sampling of the offers you’ll find around town.

Emerald Island Casino in Henderson is serving Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 10 p.m. in the restaurant. The complete sit-down Roast Turkey Dinner with all the trimmings, pumpkin pie with whipped cream and including a beverage is bargain priced at just $6.95.

Also in Henderson, both the Eldorado and Joker’s Wild Casinos are offering complete Thanksgiving Ham or Turkey dinner specials for only $9.99.

In Boulder City, the Hacienda Casino will be offering a Thanksgiving Feast in the buffet from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. featuring roast turkey with apple cranberry dressing, roast beef, and ham plus many other hot and cold entrees and desserts for $9.95. Seniors get $2 off and children under 12 are $6.95.

Ellis Island Casino and Brewery will serve its annual Traditional Thanksgiving Feast as a special buffet from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov 22. For $9.99 per person it includes dessert. Their famous Holiday Nog is back too. The "secret family recipe" egg nog is a holiday treat "with a kick!" By the glass its $4 or take home a bottle for $29.95.

The Thanksgiving menu at The Sourdough Café at Arizona Charlie’s Boulder starts with a choice of corn chowder or house salad. Entrees are a choice of roasted breast of turkey, served with cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, candied yams or mashed potatoes, green beans, and cranberry sauce; or roasted pork loin, served with cornbread dressing, mashed potatoes or candied yams, gravy, and green beans. Dessert is a choice of pumpkin or apple pie. The Thanksgiving menu will be served from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. for $8.99 per person.

Seasons Buffet at Silverton Casino Lodge wines and dines guests with a special Thanksgiving Day menu featuring an array of seafood delights including lobster and butternut squash bisque with cardamom croutons, shrimp cocktail, stuffed crab and king crab legs with whole grain mustard sauce. Also on the menu are assorted sushi, bay scallops in an orange-basil sauce, juniper-maple smoked salmon. Traditional Thanksgiving dishes include sliced turkey legs with giblet gravy, grilled vegetables, grilled butternut and acorn squash and apple-sausage stuffing.
