It’s Army-Navy weekend! I said, it’s Army-Navy weekend! Hello.

OK, we’ll ignore it. There are conference titles at stake and an invitation to the national title game in the mail for West Virginia.

As for the NFL, it will be nice to see a couple of 10-1 teams square off in Dallas. This is the real acid test for Brett Favre and the Packers in what has been an incredible run. And, we’ll see if the Patriots can cover another inflated double-digit spread.

A 15-yard penalty to us for not updating last week’s stats. Now we’re up to date and ready to pick.

NCAA

Army +13 vs Navy: Middies should be able to score 50 on Army with that relentless ground game. But, Army might be able to match Navy for a while. Hopefully, enough to get the cover. ARMY.

UCLA +16 at USC: Throw out UCLA’s 16-0 win over Oregon. The Ducks had no QB. Booty has never looked better behind center for the Trojans. The passing game is in top form, which makes USC a nightmare to defense. The Trojans will avenge last year’s loss big. USC.

Oregon St NL at Oregon: The Oregon QB situation is a mess. The Ducks lost 16-0 at UCLA. Home field should help, the visiting Beavers are 5-1 in their last six games. State also had two weeks to prepare for the Ducks after blasting Washington State by 35. OREGON ST.

Cal -13 at Stanford: Visiting Bears also had last week off and were probably watching 25th anniversary footage of the Stanford band. Stanford lost to Notre Dame. Need we say more. CAL.

Pitt +26½ at W. Virginia: This is a slam dunk. If Pitt wins, this could qualify as the upset of the year. UConn was buried in the second half at Morgantown. But the Mounties are bound to be distracted with all the BCS title talk. Pitt won’t mail it in. PITT.

Arizona +7½ at Ariz St: It will be tough for the Sun Devils to rebound from the emotionally draining loss to USC last week. Arizona’s offense has improved and the timing is right for an upset. ARIZONA.

Wash +12 at Hawaii: The visiting Huskies come off a loss to Washington State in a game they had been controlling. They also handed Boise State its only loss. The Warriors won their showdown with Boise to keep their perfect season going. Any letdown could spoil trouble. WASHINGTON.

Va Tech -3 vs BC: The Hokies showed off an improved passing game against Virginia. BC is adept at winning the close games. Tech lives off the turnover and has the momentum coming into the ACC title game. VA TECH.

Tenn +6 vs LSU: Ainge had a terrific game for Tennessee in the overtime win at Kentucky. LSU has to be down after blowing a probable national title game berth in its OT loss at home to Arkansas. This is for the SEC title, but do the Tigers really care? You can bet the Vols do. TENNESSEE.

Okla -3 vs Missouri: Chase Daniel is an overnight sensation after the win over Kansas. But, Missouri lost earlier in the year to Oklahoma. The Sooners have their QB healthy again and they handled Okie State pretty easily last week. Ohio State is pulling hard for the Sooners. OKLA.

NFL

Packers +6½ at Cowboys: No respect for the Packers or too much for Dallas. After this one, we’ll know if Favre and the Pack are the real deal. Dallas can score at will and 7 looks like a result that fits Romo and T.O. COWBOYS.

Lions +3 at Vikings: RB Adrian Peterson should be in the lineup for the Vikings. Detroit is awful on the road. VIKINGS.

Jets +1 at Dolphins: Miami has to win sometime. No better chance than here at home against the Jets. It may be better just to listen for the final score, rather than watch this. DOLPHINS.

49ers +3 at Panthers: Neither team has a capable QB, which means this could come down to field goals. Carolina awful at home. 49ERS.

Browns +1½ at Cards: Nice line for Browns, now 7-4 on the year. Arizona absolutely blew last week’s game with the Niners and must win this game to entertain any shot of the playoffs. Warner did play well last week. CARDINALS.
