Alliance taps Kevin Verner for board of directors

Kevin Verner, former chief operating officer of WMS Industries (WMS), has been elected to the board of directors of Alliance Gaming Corp.

Laurie Williams has been promoted to vice president of player development for Greektown Casino in Detroit, Mich.

Jockey Chris McCarron, a member of thoroughbred racing’s Hall of Fame, has joined the board of directors of Inc. (UBET).

Mandalay Resort Group (MGB) has appointed two new general managers. They are Curtis Jackson, who is moving from Nevada Landing in Jean, to Colorado Belle in Laughlin, Nev., and Linda Heptner, who will replace Jacks at the Nevada Landing Hotel/Casino.

There will be two fewer directors of Park Place Entertainment Corp. (PPE), reducing the number of directors to 10. Leaving the board are Kenneth Looloian and Rocco Marano, whose terms expire this year.

Troy L. Keeping is the new vice president and general manager of Lady Luck Casino Hotel in Las Vegas. Isle of Capri Casinos Inc. (ISLE) owns the property.

There are two new executives at the Eldorado Hotel/Casino in Reno, Nev. They are Randy Morris, national sales manager, and Peter Broughton, director of the management information systems.
