EDITORS NOTE: The point spreads are approximate and based on Parry’s power rankings. Wins and losses will be determined by the actual closing line.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

Brown +19 at Baylor: Brown lost to Notre Dame by 33. Baylor beat ND by 4. We think 30 should cover this one. BAYLOR.

Loyola, Md +48 at Kansas: Loyola isn’t as big a patsy as KU thinks. Dayton only won by 17 and Loyola beat Penn by 21! I’ll take all those points. LOYOLA.

Wednesday, Jan. 9

R.Island +4 at Dayton: An A-10 bombshell with both teams combining to win 20 straight games. The visiting Rams are 11-2 ATS. The points look good. RHODE ISLAND.

Duke -17 at Temple: Duke has had plenty of time off since losing their first game to Pitt. Temple is just 1-3 ATS at home. DUKE.

Pitt -1 at USF: The Panthers lost their point guard in a 25-point loss to Dayton. South Florida has won 10 of the last 11 and can smell an upset. SOUTH FLORIDA.

Thursday, Jan. 10

Georgia St +25 at VCU: Georgia State is 3-9, but has covered its last five board games and only lost to Ga Tech by 5. VCU has covered its last five. GA STATE.

Friday, Jan. 11

Harvard -8 at Dartmouth: Harvard broke on a seven-game losing streak, beating Dartmouth by 36. This is the rematch. Dartmouth has lost five in a row. Make that six. HARVARD.

Saturday, Jan. 12

UConn +9½ at Georgetown: This reminds me of the St. John’s-Syracuse game last week when the visiting Red Storm covered as an 11-point dog. UCONN.

NC State +24 at UNC: The Wolfpack are just 4-7 ATS despite a 10-3 record. The Heels are smoking everyone these days by at least 20. State beat Presbyterian by just 7! UNC.

Arizona PK at Houston: I’m not so sure about this spread. Houston has been dynamite at home and Arizona has been vulnerable on the road. HOUSTON.

Washington St +9 at UCLA: Early matchup of two top 10 teams that might be the best in the Pac 10. Bruins defense wins this one. UCLA.

Sunday, Jan. 13

Illinois +13 at Indiana: Illini are just 4-10 ATS and 0-2 on the road. Not good news when having to face super frosh Gordon and the Hoosiers. INDIANA.

Monday, Jan. 14

Gonzaga -6 at Pepperdine: The Zags enter the easy portion of what has been a brutal schedule. However, the 5-10 Waves have covered six of their last seven games. Forget that debacle with Memphis. PEPPERDINE.
