Tuesday, Jan. 29
Penguins at Devils: Two of the hottest teams in the East lock horns in their first game since the All-Star break in what figures to be a tight-checking affair. NJ has won the last two meetings (3-2, 2-1) both in Pittsburgh. UNDER.
Sabres at Lightning: The Lightning play much better at home (13-11-2) than on the road and catch a Buffalo team (9-13-4 away) that went into an awful swoon (2-5-3) before the break. LIGHTNING.
Wednesday, Jan. 30
Ducks at Wild: (VS) The Wild are 2-0 against the Stanley Cup champs, winning 2-0 and 5-2 in Anaheim. With Minnesota tough at home (15-8-1) and Anaheim average on the road (11-13-2), the Wild are the call. WILD.
Blackhawks at Avalanche: (VS): Chicago has been an enigma this season, alternating between great and poor. The Hawks are 2-0 against Colorado (17-7-1 home) and worth a chance as a near +200 dog in Denver. BLACKHAWKS.
Thursday, Jan. 31
Leafs at Hurricanes: Carolina has outscored Toronto 14-8 this season (Series, 3-1) and gets the nod at the RBC Center in Raleigh. A battle of teams looking to get their footing. HURRICANES.
Blue Jackets at Predators: Nashville has had the Jackets number this season, going 4-0 and outscoring them 15-8. Columbus is no bargain on the road (9-14-2) either. PREDATORS.
Friday, Feb. 1
Rangers at Devils: These two teams have scored 12 goals in their four meetings (3.0 GPG). Another close, low-scoring game is likely. UNDER.
Stars at Oilers: Dallas is 2-0 against Edmonton, winning both contests by a goal. Look for another low-scoring showdown with Turco and Roloson in the nets. UNDER.
Saturday, Feb. 2
Blackhawks at Sharks: San Jose has won nine straight against Chicago and is 9-0-1 with three ties at home in this series since 2000-01. The Sharks have also held the Blackhawks to two goals or less in the last five meetings. SHARKS. (BEST BET)
Senators at Leafs: Ottawa is 3-1 vs. the Leafs, outscoring them 12-9 in the process. Despite injuries, the Sens should have more offensive firepower in this meeting north of the border. SENATORS.
Sunday, Feb. 3
Rangers at Canadiens: (NBC) This lone matchup on the ice on Super Bowl Sunday features a rivalry between two of the Original Six. The Blue Shirts are 2-0 vs. Montreal this season and get the nod as a dog. Les Habs are Les Average (9-8-5) at the Bell Centre. RANGERS.
Monday, Feb. 4
Penguins at Devils: (VS) Brodeur (2.16 GAA) and Jersey are hot at home (14-8). When Sid the Kid is injured, the Pens lose a little of their waddle. DEVILS.
Coyotes at Avalanche: They say bet what you know and what we know is that the Yotes are 2-0 vs. the Avs this season, outscoring them, 9-5. Take the dog, um, Coyote here. COYOTES.
