Gambling experts often advise avoiding the slot machines at the airport because they supposedly have such a low payout percentage.

It’s a good thing an Idaho man wasn’t listening. The 46-year-old Idaho resident hit a $1,061,359 Wheel of Fortune dollar Mega Jackpot last week at the McCarran International Airport.

The man, who preferred to remain anonymous, was in town attending a trade show in place of his boss.

Feeling lucky from a win the night before, he invested $20 while waiting for his flight. He says he enjoys playing Wheel of Fortune because of the spin option.

"This is too good to be true, I can’t believe it," said the excited winner. "I had a lucky feeling last night when I won. Wheel of Fortune is something my mom likes to play too."

The winner, who currently works as a carpenter, says he plans to pay off his home and send his children to college.
