One of the largest hotel operators in the world, Inter Continental Hotels Group (IHG), last week announced plans for a new 386-room Crowne Plaza hotel and casino in Las Vegas. The hotel is expected to open in 2010.

The 31-story hotel will be located in central Las Vegas, just west of the Las Vegas Strip, and a short drive from the McCarran International Airport.

"Las Vegas has seen exceptional growth in population and tourism over the past decade," said Gina LaBarre, vice president, Brand Management, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts. "The world famous gaming resorts and thriving convention industry bring in tens of thousands of visitors a year, making this a great location for an upscale meetings-savvy brand like Crowne Plaza."

The new Asian-themed Crowne Plaza will include a casino, three restaurants, three lounges, a full-service spa and outdoor swimming pool, as well as a fitness center, business center and retail shops. Complimentary wired and wireless Internet will be also available throughout the hotel.

In addition, the hotel will feature the Crowne Plaza Sleep Advantage program, which is available at all Crowne Plaza hotels.  Sleep Advantage focuses on the entire sleep experience, from new bedding, guaranteed wake-up calls, designated quiet zones, night lights, drape clips, sleep CDs, sleep tips and amenities such as eye masks, ear plugs and lavender spray.

Because it is part of IHG’s massive network of international hotels, Crowne Plaza will participate in the company’s Priority Club Rewards program for hotel guests. With more than 37 million members, Priority Club Rewards is the first, largest and fastest-growing guest loyalty program in the hotel industry, offering "frequent flyer" like benefits and reservation system.

IHG is one of the world’s largest hotel groups by rooms. It owns, manages, leases or franchises, through various subsidiaries, over 3,800 hotels and more than 571,000 guest rooms in nearly 100 countries and territories around the world.

IHG owns a portfolio of well recognised and respected hotel brands, including Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites and Hotel Indigo.
