Thrashers at Canadiens: Have played three 3-2 games with Atlanta winning two. Sticking with that average total in a big game for both squads. UNDER 5½.

Red Wings at Oilers: Detroit leads series, 2-1 (9-7 goals) but is without injured Zetterberg and Hasek. Backup, call-up Howard (1.31 GAA) may be in net. RED WINGS.

Wednesday, Feb. 27

Predators at Sabres: Buffalo needs W’s for playoff push while Predators very average (12-14-4) out of Volunteer State. SABRES.

Sharks at Jackets: Nabokov (2.22 GAA) vs. Leclaire (2.18) as good as it gets in nets. Three meetings this season have totaled 11 goals, in each case one-goal games. UNDER 5.

Thursday, Feb. 28

Senators at Flyers: Meetings have seen 7, 7 and 5 goals and with Philly phloundering, look for at least six scores at the Wachovia Center. OVER 6.

Blackhawks at Stars: Although Savard’s boys have 2-1 edge in season series and on upswing, expect top effort from defensive-minded Stars (1.55 GA, third-lowest) and netminder Turco (2.30 GAA) at the American Airlines Center. STARS.

Friday, Feb. 29

Flames at Ducks: Anaheim is rising in West (8-2 L10), Calgary solid on road (17-11-3). Ducks lead series, 2-1 with 18 total goals. DUCKS.

Blue Jackets at Canucks: Vancouver up 2-1 in series with 2-0 shutout in only meeting at General Motors Place, where home team is 16-11-3. Low scoring. CANUCKS.

Saturday, March 1

Kings at Avalanche: Games have had 7, 6 and 7 goals with Avs winning first two. Kings likely out of playoffs so wide open, high-scoring skate probable. OVER 5½.

Sharks at Blues: SJ 2-0 vs. Blues giving up just one goal. Sharks better on road (19-8-3) and get nod in another low-scoring showdown. SHARKS.

Sunday, March 2

Thrashers at Penguins: (NBC) Atlanta in second night of road back-to-backer and Pitt skates strong at The Igloo (18-10-3). Malkin (82 pts) on fire lately. PENGUINS.

Flyers at Rangers: (NBC) Philly really struggling (L10) while New York (19-13 home) and goalie Lundqvist (2.36, 7 SO’s) playing solid. Flyers 1-4 in the series.

Kings at Wild: Minehaha among NHL’s best at home (18-10-3) while LA still has worst record (26-34-4). WILD.
