New York Rangers at Pittsburgh Penguins (-145, 5o -135) (Versus TV): The Penguins have gotten plenty of rest after sweeping the Senators and goalie Marc Andre-Fluery held the defending Eastern Conference champions to just five goals in four games (1.26 GAA). The Rangers and former Penguin Jagr head into the Steel City off a series victory over rival New Jersey as netminder Henrik Lundqvist (2.36 GAA playoffs) was absolutely superb. With Crosby, Malkin and Hossa feeling strong and New York’s defense a little bit suspect in front of Lundqvist, let’s stick with the Penguins in this opener. The Rangers won the season series, 5-3. PENGUINS -145.

Dallas Stars at San Jose Stars (-160, 5u -130) (Versus TV): Scared shirtless by their nemesis, the Flames, in Round 1, the Sharks will certainly be more focused in this opener after Calgary upset them in Game 1 in the Shark Tank. Anaheim played inept at the beginning of its series against Dallas and dug themselves a hole a little too deep to get out of. The Stars’ Turco (2.01 GAA playoffs) shined in Round 1 but will really have to stand on his head to match the Sharks’ Nabokov (2.45 GAA playoffs) who is among the world’s elite. Joe Thornton & Co. seem on a mission and should prevail at home in this crucial opener. The season series was split, 4-4. SHARKS -160.
