At Los Angeles
Lakers -7 vs Jazz (213)
The Lakers are well rested after a four-game sweep of Denver and the favorites to advance out of the Western Conference to the NBA Finals. LA has covered the spread the last six games and faces an opponent noted for playing clunkers on the road. The Jazz eliminated Houston in six games, but comes to the Staples Center on a 1-3 ATS slide in its past four contests.
As the best-of-7 series progresses, it will be interesting to see whether Utah coach Jerry Sloan decides to put his best player and defender Deron Williams on Kobe Bryant, the NBA’s probable MVP. Another key is production. Utah scored 93 or more points just once in its last seven games. On the flip side, the potent Lakers offense has scored at least 102 in its last nine. Look for form to hold and LA protecting home court in Game 1 by a double-digit margin. LAKERS.
