Game 4 at San Antonio
Spurs -5½ vs Hornets (187½)
This figures to be the best chance New Orleans has of stealing a game in San Antonio. The Hornets lost Game 3 by 11 as a 7-point underdog, but were in it until going cold in the last five minutes. The oddmakers apparently think New Orleans will give a better effort, slicing 1½ points from that Game 3 line. It’s the same situation New Orleans faced in Game 4 of the Dallas series when up 2-1. The Hornets won that game and closed out the series in 5 at New Orleans.
San Antonio’s big three of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker were finally on the same page in Game 3, but the Spurs still are not getting much help from the bench and have yet to slow down Hornets point guard Chris Paul. David West figures to bound back from subpar efforts in Games 2 and 3 and the younger legs of New Orleans should keep this one close against the aging Spurs. NEW ORLEANS.
