At Hollywood in race one we ran second and third, in race two we ran one-two, we lost race three and four. In race five we had the winner but lost race six. We ran one-two-three in race seven with the tri paying $120 for a dollar. We won the eighth and ninth but lost by a nostril in the tenth following a lousy ride by Nakatani. At Bay Meadows we almost swept the card but ran second in race eight. The almost-sweep included the $20.80 winner Star of Madraar in race six.
This race looks like its top and bottom with No. 1, Almacita, and No. 8, Applaud Dubai, who comes off a nice win. 1-8
This is one bad race but it could also come top and bottom with the first time starter No. 1 Dixie’nal and the Turf Paradise invader No. 9, Hint of Lavender. 1-9
Here’s a wide open flat mile on the grass for 3yo fillies – both the one and two were entered on the Saturday card but scratched out for this spot. No. 4, Miss Singhsix, is a very interesting filly shipping in from Ireland for the Irish trainer Paddy Gallagher, this girl looks real live. We will be boxing 1-2-4 and making a win bet on No. 4.
No easy decisions in here with all the droppers, it’s a guessing game which horses are fit and which ones are not. I would advise to play this race with caution. 1-6-7-9
No. 5, Tizsong, looks like a horse on the uptick and ready to graduate. No. 9, Classic Attire just beat the five but has had a lot of chances. Comebacker No. 2 Dollar Mountain could shock at 12-1. 2-5-9
No. 6 Power Shift had a ton of trouble in his last and now gets Bejarano in the irons off the Mullins claim, this guy looks very live. No. 7 Forest Danz drops a tad and will be tough in this spot. No. 2 Grits loves this track and exits the same race as the six but Nakatani rides and he just isn’t the same jock as in the past. No. 10 Daytona drops his price back to the original claimed price and can run with these. 2-6-7-10.
No. 5 Medzendeekron does best on numbers, won on this course at this distance and is the one to beat. His main danger are No. 2 Towzee and No. 3 Billy Allen. 2-3-5
Trainer Steve Sherman ships in No. 1 Sweet Hope who just may be this good. No. 4 Tasha’s Miracle ran behind Ariege and Golden Doc A and looks live in here. No. 5 Lethal Heat is undefeated in three starts and goes from jockey Olquin to Bejarano. 1-4-5
What a way to finish off a day at the races, with maiden Cal Bred fillies and mares. Most are first time starters so we will have to go with workouts and trainer stats. 5-6-7-11
Trainer Drysdale ships No. 2 Chevin in from So Cal for this 7 ½ furlong turf event and he looks good. No. 8 has the best dirt form and if able to transfer it to the grass he will be hard to beat. 2-8
Two-year-olds going 4 ½ furlongs? 1-3-4-5
Race 3: 3-6-8
No. 3 Crimson Cowboy just scored here in a big way and has the look of a repeater. 3
The So Cal shipper No. 1 Okie Dokie Petey drops to the bottom of the maiden claiming ranks, so its give up time as they try and get a win and get this guy claimed. No. 5 Mr Topper could pop at a big price. Baze and Hollendorfer have the even money favorite No. 4 Live Fast. 1-4-5
Race 6: 7-8
One way call here as No. 6 Hold the Advantage looks to have an overwhelming advantage as he looks to be a very short priced winner. 6
This race is a pass or if betting pick threes or pick fours play an all or just take a shot on the big drop down No. 8 Bertrando’s Love.
In this race we will be keying on the Hollywood shipper and big drop down No. 7 Surf Town who won on this grass course the last time he was here at the Bay. Key first and second in tri’s with 1-8-9-10.
$1 tri key 7 with 1-8-9-10 with 1-8-9-10 for $12
$1 tri key 1-8-9-10 with 7 with 1-8-9-10 for $12
Don’t forget to check for late scratches and changes.
