Utah Jazz at L.A. Lakers -8½

In Round 2 of the NBA playoffs, the home teams have been winning and covering at a phenomenal clip (17-1 straight up, 14-3-1 against the spread). Nonetheless, this looks like a good spot for the Jazz to steal one on the road, although they have an overall losing record away from home, and have lost six straight times to the Lakers (SU and ATS) in Los Angeles. Utah knows it has to win one on the road, and Kobe Bryant, although expected to play tonight, could still be hobbled by a sore back – this isn’t the kind of injury you can play through, as demonstrated by Kobe’s poor performance in overtime on Sunday. Without a full-strength Kobe Bryant, the Lakers will be hard-pressed to win, let alone cover such a high number. Let’s give the nod to the boys from Salt Lake. UTAH +8½
