Friday, May 16 results

At Hollywood, our key horse in Race 3 ran third. We almost hit the jackpot with our key play in Race 6 as Foul Play won and paid $26.20. Our key hoses in the tri and super ran third and fourth. We did hit the Q, which paid $45 and the 10-cent super box which paid $137. Our key horse in Race 7 ran out.

At Golden Gate our key play in Race 2 won, paid $14.60 and $4.80 (place) so we got back $97 for our $10 win and place wager. We lost our key bet in Races 6 and 8.

PIMLICO

Race 12

The Preakness Stakes

You can’t bet on him and you can’t bet against him, so our only shot to make a dime will be to play the trifecta and superfecta. We will use No. 7 Big Brown first and make one little ticket with him second just in case. On just numbers, there is no one close to Big Brown. It would take a freak of nature for him lose this race, like a big stumble out of the gate or the jockey falling off, or a downpour that makes the track a bog. Believe me if something can happen in a horse race it usually does.

Some of the others that we will use are No. 6 Racecar Rhapsody who is as steady as they come with his late closing kick. He should pick up some late piece. No. 10 Riley Tucker trained by Bill Mott for Zayat Stables is on the uptick and should get a piece. He exits the same highly rated race as the 6. No. 12 Gayego’s only poor race was the Kentucky Derby where he had a ton of trouble and really never was a factor. He will go much better today with blinkers on and a clean break.

Plays:

$2.00 tri key 7 with 6-10-12 with 6-10-12-13 =$16

$1.00 tri key 7 with 6-10-12 with all = $24

$1.00 superfecta key 7 with 6-10-12 with 6-10-12-13 with 6-10-12-13 = $48

$1.00 tri key 7 with 12 with all = $10

$1.00 tri key 7 with all with 12 = $10

Hollywood Park

Race 1

Three horse race with No. 4 Hemet, No. 5 Pawnee and No. 7 City Stormy with the No. 8 having an outside shot. We will play an exacta box and a tri box.

Key play

$5.00 exacta box 4-5-7 = $30

$1.00 tri box 4-5-7-8 = $24

Race 2

2-3

Race 3

Second-time starter No. 9 Big Red Tate ran huge in his first outing. This guy at one time had a ton of potential as they shelved out $275k for him as a yearling. Now he is a 4yo gelding. If he doesn’t bounce, he wins this race.

Key play

$20 win 9 = $20

$5 key Q 9 with 5-7-12-13 = $20

.10 cent superbox 5-7-9-12-13 = $12

Race 4

4-6

Race 5

No. 6 Dearest Trickski looks to hold all the aces in this race.

6

Race 6

10-12

Race 7

This one is real wide open with the main contenders being 2-3-8-10

Race 8

This one is another fiasco.

1-6-12

Race 9

4-5-7

Race 10

4-6-12

Race 11

Now we find a race we can sink our teeth into as the No. 7 Rhodine’s Kid looks like he will be very hard to beat in this weak 25k maiden claimer.

Key play

$20 win 7= $20

$2 key Q 7 with 1-2-4-6-10-13= $12

Golden Gate Fields

Race 1

2-5

Race 2

Dropper No. 7 Swiss Sonata looks good in this spot. We will key him in a tri.

Key play

$1 tri key 7 with 1-3-4 with 1-3-4 $6

$1 tri key 7 with 1-3-4 with 1-2-3-4-5-6-8= $21

Race 3

We will take a shot and make a little win / place bet on No. 12 The Royals Court, who is 12-1 in the morning line and may go off higher.

Key pay

$10 win and place 12= $20

Race 4

1-5

Race 5

We will make an exacta box using three horses – No. 10 Ilikeitalot, No. 11 Sword Legend and No. 12 Union Rules.

Key play

$5 exacta box 10-11-12 = $30

$2 tri box 10-11-12 = $12

Race 6

The No. 7 will be odds on in this race and could be used as a single if you are playing picks. The main danger will come from 6 and 11.

Race 7

4-5-12

Race 8

The No. 4 Pull Away looks like a solid play.

Key play

$5 key Q 4 with 5-8-10-12 = $20

Race 9

1-4-9-10-11-12 all can be used in a pick three.

Race 10

3-5-7-8
