Detroit Red Wings (-140, 5u 120, LVH) at Dallas Stars (Versus): Stars goalie Marty Turco finally won his first game (1-9-2) at Joe Louis Arena on Saturday afternoon and after falling behind 3-0 in this Western Conference final, Dallas suddenly finds themselves down just 3-2 with a chance to tie it up tonight in Big D. The way the last two games – in which Dallas won – were played, a defensive-minded skate, leads me to believe that this game will be very similar, making the under worth a shot.

As far as picking a side, most teams in pro sports close it out when they get to the three-win point in a best-of-7 series – as history reveals with only two teams ever coming back from a 3-0 deficit (Islanders, Maple Leafs). And with Detroit having that perpetual playoff monkey on its back, there’s no doubt that these back-to-back losses have crept into the back of their minds as well as Red Wings fans. And with leading playoff scorer Johan Franzen (12 goals) having missed four straight games with a concussion, the Wings all of a sudden seem to be pressing for goals. So just hold on to those octopi Detroiters because it ain’t over ‘til the fat lady sings...or at least until somebody wins four games. UNDER 5, STARS +130.
