Hollywood Park

Race 1

With 2yo fillies going 4½ furlongs anything can happen and usually does; but we will go with the go-to trainers in these type of races. Trainer Mike Harrington can pop here with No. 4, Mischabel, whose sire Swiss Yodeler has great early win breeding. The entry of Nos. 1 and 1a look solid but the half that I like is the 1a, Steal My Charm, whose jockey and trainer have been gold. Trainer Peter Miller sends out two first time starters in here and they are not an enty, we will side with No. 6, Wendoffer, with Bejarano in the irons. 1a-4-6

Race 2

Turf Paradise invader No. 1, Jody Rules, appears to have found a good spot and is 10-1 in the morning line, she will have to beat No. 2, Dances With Tigers, and No. 4, Queen Holly. 1-2-4

Race 3

We have more 2yo going 4 ½ furlongs, but in here we have the 2yo colts except for No. 3, Chattie Katie, who is a filly and has the same connections as the 1a in race one – the jockey trainer combo of Atkinson and W. Solis are 4-3-0 from seven starts. No. 4, Lightning Diablo, was a $55k yearling purchase and is now entered in this 40k maiden claimer so all must not be as good as originally thought to be, but this guy looks live for trainer Doug O’Neill and his main jock M Baze. 3-4

Race 4

This is one wide-open affair so we will go price searching and we came up with No. , Warren’s Adventure, who is 5-1 in the morning line but do believe she could go off a little higher. She has won three of four starts at this tough 7 furlong distance including her maiden breaker here at Hollywood on the cushion track. She was in tough last time out against the very good mare Sangy who most likely will be the favorite in race five. No. 6, Kalookan Lessie, has been racing on the grass and is 0-3 on synthetic surfaces but may like the cushion track here at Hollywood. We do know that she likes the Hollywood surrounding as she had two wins from two starts here when it was a dirt track. Trainer Mike Mitchell saddles No. 3, Bela, who gets her first start off the claim and Mr. Mike is 26% first off the claim. 2-3-6

Race 5

We will be making a key bet in this race as the entry of No. 1, Sangay, and No. 1a, Silver Swallow, look first or second in this race. No. 1a, Silver Swallow, always runs her race but comes up short as her record of 1-5-4 from eleven starts, but jockey David Flores takes over for the first time and he just may get her to the winners circle. No. 5, Unspoken Fur, makes her first start as a 3yo and looks primed for a big time effort. We will make a Q and key trifecta. 1-5

Key play

$20 Q 1-5 for $20

$1 tri key 1-5 with 1-5 with all for $14

$1 tri key 1-5 with all with 1-5 for $14

Race 6

Over the years the favorites don’t do so well in these filly and mare races going long on the grass and this race should be no different as none of these have run par for the race. The likely chalk in here No. 5, June My Love, has failed in eleven tries, four as the favorite. Jockey Quinonez gets back aboard the lightly raced No. 9, Bran Jammas, and this 3yo filly could pop today at a price. The one that just may light up the tote is No. 10, Isabella’s Crown, from the ice cold Jack Van Berg barn, Hall of Fame trainer Van Berg is due for a little luck and it could come here as Espinoza gets up and that is a shock. No. 4, Unusual Strike, is another lightly raced 3yo filly out of the Barry Abrams barn and this will be her first try at a distance of ground. 4-9-10

Race 7

No. 2, Casino Kay, gets blinder on for her second start off the Bill Spawr claim as he looks for the answer. The will be No. 5, Sailor’s Sister’s, third start off the layoff and she looks ready for a smasher. 2-5

Race 8

We will take a good shot in here as we will play the tri, super and exact five and look for the big score. On numbers this is a cold five horse race with No. 4, Tolnai, doing best. He gets his first start off the Frank Monteleone claim and Mr. M puts is got to rider Espinoza in the saddle. His main danger will come from No. 6, Norway House, who is a win machine with ten wins from 40 lifetime starts and he is five for fifteen on the synthetic surfaces. No. 8, Judge Gallivan, and No. 10, Courtly Jazz, will be the ones to run down. No. 11, Herbie Love, gets Rosario in his first start off the claim and looks live. We will key the 4 with the others. 4-6-8-10-11

Key play

$1 tri key 4 with 6-8-10-11 with 6-8-10-11 for $12

$1 tri key 6-8-10-11 with 4 with 6-8-10-11for $12

10¢ superfecta box 4-6-8-10-11 for $12

$1 super high five 4-8 with 4-8 with 6-10-11 with 6-10-11 with 6-10-11for $24

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

Race 1

No. 6, Kafmain, looks like Big Brown in this field, he will be 1-9.

Race 2

Any of the five entered can win but will go with No. 3, My Creed, the 7yo tough as nails gelding. 3

Race 3

It’s tough with 2yo fillies going the unusual distance of a flat 4 furlongs; if you must play we will go with 1-2-4 and hope for the best. 1-2-4

Race 4

No. 1, High Interest, looks ready for cap and gown time on the Lloyd Mason stretch out. No. 5, Novato, has been routing ok on the grass and could be legged up for a big late run.

1-5

Race 5

No. 1, Alottadar, will be odds-on in here with the huge drop in class by Hollendorfer. No. 12, Starspell, is 10- in the morning line, loves this track and should be coming late under jockey Beto. 1-12

Race 6

In here we will make a key play as No. 3, Circle of Fame, just may offer some value on a valueless card. Circle won for fun at 46-1 in his first start off the layoff and really don’t have much to beat in here. We will make a win bet and then some Q’s. 3

Key play

$20 win No. 3 for $20

$10 key Q 3 with 2-4 for $20

Race 7

The Hollywood shipper No. , Rapid Goose, will be even money or less in here but we have seen them run up the track in the past so we will take a little shot in here and make a exacta box and a tri box using No. 2, Acekingqueenjacten, and No. 3, Sister Sally. 2-3-8

Race 8

This race looks like it is between No. 1, Voracious, No. 4, Majestic American, and the big drop down come-backer No. 6, Razen Hazen. 1-4-6

DON’T FORGET TO CHECK FOR LATE SCRATCHES
