Yesterday’s results

At Hollywood Park, we had the winner in race one, we ran first and second in race two, we lost the third, had the winner in race four but was split in our key play bet by a 55-1 shot that refused to quit. In our key bet in race five, we ran second and third but may have won as Mark Set Go was blocked the entire length of the stretch while stuck down on the inside. We lost race six when our horses once again ran second and third; no luck in the last two races. At the Gate we hit the first two races and the double paid a nice $79 for two bucks. We lost the third race; we had the winner in race four and hit part of our key bet in race five, catching the exacta for $46.20 and the one dollar tri for $44.40. Race six was a debacle as our horses were whipped out at the wire but the almighty stewards did nothing. We won the last two races with our key horse and single winning the last race and the late double paid $42.60

Race 3

With the first two races looking ugly we will go right to the first leg of the pick six carry-over. We have 3yo fillies going 1 1/16, we will look for the ones that have don’t it before and they are No. 5, Applaud Dubai, who just missed by a nose at this distance at Santa Anita with Almeida aboard and now gets the services of Bejarano. No. 6, Warren’s Gold, ran a nice second here at this distance for $32k and the drop could get this lightly raced Touch Gold fillie home on top. 5-6

Race 4

If we can stab the winner in this race we may have a shot. My Sister Laureen takes her blinkers off that she wore in her first two starts and this improving miss just may be sitting on a big effort. No. 13 Ms. Manhattan Jack gets in from the also list and makes her second start off the Craig Lewis claim, she also turns back in distance and will be making a big late move. 6-13

Race 5

This one is a real grab bag with two shippers, one from the barn of Richard Mandella and the other from the Bobby Frankel barn, either could win but in a race like this when any of the eight entered can win I usually take a shot and go with the go to horse and that horse for me is No. 8 Stand Tall who just exploded in the stretch in his first and only start here at Hollywood Park at this tough 7f distance and won in hand by five lengths with a lot left in the tank, we will take our shot and single him. 8

Race 6

No. 3, Stomp Dance, ran his best race last time out and now gets the bug boy Campos in the irons for what looks to be the money run. No. 8, Awesome Graf, is a 15 time loser but will not find an easier bunch of maiden claimers at Hollywood. No. 11 Dynaquake gets the necessary drop and may have found his friends. 3-8-11

Race 7

Among these 3yo going 6f on the grass none have run par for this $50k claimer. No. 3, Prize of the City, is a three time winner and at least shows a turf win, he has speed and will get a nice stalking trip with the turnback in distance from a flat mile. I like the fact that No. 4, Outlaw James, had a race on this course at a higher level, that race may have set him up perfectly for this one. 3-4

Race 8

This is a four horse race with No. 3 Cinderella Ella, No. 5 Absolutely Smitten, No. 6 Alotta Wild and No. 9, Spring Catch, we will use all four in the Pick Six and make a tri box.

Key Play

$1 tri box 3-5-6-9 for $24

$2 Pick Six

Race 3: 5-6

Race 4: 6-13

Race 5: 8

Race 6: 3-8-11

Race 7: 3-4

Race 8: 3-5-6-9 for $192

Golden Gate Fields

Race 1: 2-4-6

Race 2: 3-5

Race 3: 1-2-4

Race 4

The horse to beat is No. 2, Amanda’s Honor, who ran two good turf races at Bay Meadows and if able to transfer that good from to the Gate she will be hard to beat, especially with the jockey change. No. 5, Tianjin, is stretched out and put on the grass both for the first time by sneaky trainer Mason, so beware. No. 8, Forgiving Spirit, could go better with the blinkers on. No. 1 Icing has good sprint speed and will have to be caught.

Key Play

$10 Q 2 with 1-5-8 for $30

$1 exacta box 1-2-5-8 for $12

$1 tri key 2 with 1-5-8 for $6

Race 5: 5-7

Race 6: 5-6

Race 7: 1-9

Race 8

I like the recent claim on No. 3, Weekend Tiger, he has a ton of back class and just may like the Golden Gate poly track.

Key Play

$10 win and place on No. 3 for $20

DON’T FORGET TO CHECK FOR LATE SCRATCEHS
