by Ray Poirier | Anne LaCour Neeb, who was hired as the first executive director of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board three years ago, has submitted her resignation.

Neeb, a New Orleans native, served as executive director of the Louisiana Gaming Control Board for several years before accepting the Pennsylvania position.

When asked her reasons for leaving, Neeb replied, "I need to direct my attention to family matters that need to be taken care of. Im getting ready to catch a plane to go back to Louisiana to take care of some family business, and then Im going to evaluate my options. I havent made any decisions."

She denied that the controversy over the licensing and subsequent license suspension of an individual allegedly tied to mob sources had anything to do with her decision to step down.
