Phillies -105 vs Reds (10)
(A. Eaton vs A. Harang)
Philadelphia is 6-1 on its current homestand, outscoring the opposition 60-29. The most recent win was a 5-4 decision Monday night against Cincinnati, which fell to 9-20 on the road. Phillies starter Adam Eaton has been the weak link in the starting rotation, though he is coming off a 6-1 victory over Colorado to begin the homestand. Philly is just 4-7 in Eaton’s starts.
Aaron Harang opened the season as Cincinnati’s ace, but has struggled particularly on the road where the Reds are just 1-4 in his starts. Harang and Eaton met in Cincinnati back on April 5 with the Reds winning as -135 favorites, 4-3. There is plenty of firepower on both sides with the Phils’ Chase Utley leading the majors in homers with 21 and Cincinnati’s stud rookie Jay Bruce batting .577 with 3 HR, 7 RBI and 12 runs scored in just seven big league games. This matchup could come down to the bullpens, which gives the edge to Philly and closer Brad Lidge. PHILLIES.
