Yesterday’s results

It was a tough day – at Hollywood we ran second in the first race when the lone speed held on; we won race two but ran second and third in race three. We lost our key play in the fourth but ran first and second in race five and first and second in race six with the winner Muscle’n Mane paying a nice $14.80 and the $2 exacta paying $34.40. We lost the seventh but had the winner in the eighth. At Golden Gate our key play in race one got scratched but we did have the winner and hit the double. We ran first and second in race three and we ran first and second in the fourth and would have hit the early pick four if we had played it. We also ran first and second in the fifth but blew the last three races so all and all it was not a complete bust.

HOLLYWOOD PARK

Race 1

In the first it looks like a two horses race with No. 2, Improvising Girl, dropping back to $50k claiming where she just did miss by a nose the last time at this price and No. 7, Halo’s Clean Sheet, who turns back in distance and that could be the answer. 2-7

Race 2

In this short compact field of five going a flat mile on the grass they all look to have a shot but we will go with No. 5, Epic Power, who loves this track and this flat mile distance. 5

Race 3

One of two 2yo races carded today which will cut down on the Hollywood handle, this race and the last race which is really stupid. In here we will take a stab with No. 3, Streamin Heat, a second time starter out of the Wesley Ward barn, No. 4, Ten Churros, a first time starter out of the Jeff Mullins barn with his go to rider on board Clinton Potts and the Peter Miller trained No. 9, Wendoffer, all three look live. 3-4-9

Race 4

If the dropper No. 8, Quasimodo, still has four legs he will win if not it could be a crap shoot but our alternate horse will be the other win machine No. 6, Norway House, with the lightweight Campos along for the ride. 6-8

Key Play

$1 Pick Four for $12 total

Race 1: 2-7

Race 2: 5

Race 3: 3-4-9

Race 4: 6-8

Race 5

This is a very competitive 1 1/16 turf route for fillies and mares that have never won three races. No. 6, Honored Gold, just missed at a flat mile in his last start and the one time that she ran this distance who won, we will key her in some Q’s with the 2-3-5.

Key Play

$10 key quinnela: 6 with 2-3-5 for $30

Race 6

This really looks like a two horse race with the lightly raced No. 5, Genuine Magic, who just beat the chronic nibbler No. 9, Inspiration Within, these two could run one two in here. 5-9

Race 7

If I were going to play a pick three or pick four, I would have to use all in this race but since I won’t because the last race is a wide open 2yo race I will just use No. 3, Silver Stetson Man, who ran his best lifetime race the last time he set foot on the cushion track here at Hollywood; and No. 5, Sea of Pleasure, who also ran his best race the last time he was here on the cushion. 3-5

Race 8

With 2yo going 5 furlongs for the first time, it’s not a very appetizing race. It would help to watch the early betting and the pick three payouts. But for now, No. 10, Let’spickupthepace, looks set off his good try last time and if able to move forward off that race from his far outside post he will win. No. 7, Nochangenweather, had trouble in his first start and now gets a new rider, the newly-married M. Baze who, will hustle this one out of the gate. No. 9, Fu Peg He Rat, is a Fusaichi Pegasus charge who looks very live first out. No. 3, Dark and Deep, showed good early speed in his first start and could improve from his inside post if able to clear early. We will key on the ten but also use the other in a late Pick Four and late double. 3-7-9-10

Key Play

$1 Pick Four for $16 total

Race 5: 2-3-5-6

Race 6: 5-9

Race 7: 3-5

Race 8: 10

$2 late double for $16

Race 7: 3-5

Race 8: 3-7-9-10

GOLDEN GATE FIELDS

Race 1

Trainer Miyadi has two entered in here and when that happens he usually wins with one of them, No. 1, Ben’s Starry Night, who will be closing and No. 3, Black Mallou, who will try and take them wire to wire. 1-3

Race 2

No. 3, Comedy Is Magic, comes here via Hollywood Park and exits a key race, he may have found a nice spot to break his maiden. No. 4, Jacks Story, is a first time starter out of the dangerous Steve Sherman barn. 3-4

Race 3

No. 1, Buck Tuddy Buck, gets his first start for new connections off a very easy win and could repeat. No. 2, Charmvictor, drops trying to cash, No. 6, Osiris Lunus, is a track and distance specialist and has two wins and three second from five starts here on the poly.

1-2-6

Key Play

$1 Pick Three for $12 total

Race 1: 1-3

Race 2: 3-4

Race 3: 1-2-6

Race 4: 2-3-6-8

Race 5

No. 2, Okie Dokie Petey, stormed home to win by nine at Bay Meadows last time out in his maiden breaker but that was on dirt and he will be over bet in here so we will try and take advantage of that angle and go with No. 7, Union Rules, who ruled on this track May 17 when flying home to win by 3½ widening lengths, at 7-2 in the morning line we will be him to win and place and single him in the late pick four.

Key Play

$10 win and place No. 7 for $20

Race 6

This looks like a one horse race with the So Cal shipper No. 10, Excessive Fun, who will be odds on but we will also use No. 2, Powers Lilsis, who ran well at the Bay but just could not get there, he may love this poly track. 2-10

Race 7

In here we will have another odds on horse that we will use but try and beat, No. 5, Royal Sierra, will be 1-5 in here and she will win if not a complete cripple, if she is then it could be No. 2 Chai Ann. 2-5

Race 8

More 2-year-olds but we will just take our shot with No. 1, Peace of Me, and No. 2, Thecatcheckraised. 1-2

Key Play

$2 Pick Four for $16 total

Race 5: 7

Race 6: 2-10

Race 7: 2-5

Race 8: 1-2
