by Kevin Stott | Czech Republic vs. Portugal (-½, -115, 2o -110, Las Vegas Hilton) (9 a.m. ESPN Classic/ESPN Deportes): The Czech Republic is undefeated in its last five first round games in the Euro Cup but goalkeeper Petr Cech & Co. will really have its work cut out for him this morning against Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal. Neither team allowed a goal in wins on
Saturday, but that was against opposition (Switzerland, Turkey) a notch down from these two talented teams. If you can find a 2½ somewhere, then play the UNDER but honestly, this game is too hard to handicap the winner, as either side could prevail and a tie (Draw) is a very distinct possibility. PASS.
Switzerland (-½, -115, 2u -115, LVH) vs. Turkey (11:45 a.m. ESPN Classic/ESPN Deportes): The Swiss and Turkey … sounds more like an order at a deli than a soccer match. The Swiss are notorious for playing great defense and had a couple of near misses in their opener against the Czech Republic. Swiss striker Alexander Frei (torn ligament) is out for the remainder of the tourney but the Swiss can get scoring from other places – something they’ll have to do in this one against Turkey to even sniff post-Group Stage play in this Euro.
Although I’m taking SWITZERLAND to eke out a 1-0 win in this one, this Turkey team shouldn’t be slighted and the best side on this match is the UNDER, and once again if you can find it at 2½ anywhere, get it but if you can only get it at 2, take it as the Swiss defense is among the top in this tournament.
