by GT Staff | Colorado Rockies at Chicago White Sox (-155, 9, LVH): Trying to steal the Cubs’ thunder in Chicago for the White Sox is kind of like Atlantic City trying to steal Las Vegas’s in gambling – it’s just not going to happen. But the Pale Hose are certainly trying, going 19-9 at the new Comiskey and winning eight straight and 11 of 14 on the South Side. Chicago is 3-0 against the Junior Circuit this season after registering a pathetic 4-14 last season.
Colorado clams up away from Coors Field and has lost 19 of 23 road games headed into tonight. In baseball, the looser, more confident and healthier team usually prevails, so the Rocks’ injuries to Tulowitzki, Hawpe and Barmes are a big negative.
Pitching for the Go Go Sox is Gavin Floyd (7-3, 3.10 ERA) a righty who has been more than impressive and who had a career-high nine strikeouts in his last start against the Twins. Jeff Francis (2-6, 5.45) gets the ball for Colorado, and despite a nice 2007, Francis has yet to find that form as a 32-pitch first inning on Sunday reveals. WHITE SOX -155.
