by Kevin Stott | Czech Republic (PK -155, 2o -120) vs. Turkey (9 a.m. PT, ESPN2/ESPN Deportes): The Czechs looked good in their games against Switzerland (W, 1-0) and Portugal (L, 1-3) and will need a win in this one to advance while Turkey is exactly in the same boat. Because this is a huge game for both sides, we’ll PASS on a side but because the pace should be nervous and frenetic, a shot at the OVER 2 sounds good despite the fact that the Czech Republic has the aptly named Petr Cech, one of the best on the planet, between the pipes. This should be a 2-1 game but who knows who’ll end up on top here in Geneva…

Portugal (-½ +135) vs. Switzerland (11:45 a.m. PT, ESPN2/ESPN Deportes): Portugal boasts the most-talented futbol player in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, a player who will be looking for more here after scoring his first Euro Cup goal on Wednesday against the Czechs and winning the UEFA Champions League crown with Manchester United about a month ago. The Swiss special in defense, but are overmatched in this one and have nothing to really play for, save pride, after Wednesday’s late loss to Turkey eliminated the co-host country from advancing.

Portugal creates many scoring opportunities and will want to advance to the next round with a clean sheet (undefeated record) so I expect them to score first and then push for a second goal to cap it. The lean here is toward PORTUGAL –½, UNDER 2½.
