THE INSIDER: Since the introduction of table games at West Virginia’s racinos, that state has become second only to Nevada in the share of its state budget that comes from gambling revenues.

After a $439 million makeover designed to compete with its U.S. neighbors across the Detroit River, Casino Windsor has become Caesars Windsor.

Helped by an extra weekend, the month of May saw Mississippi’s casinos pull in $236.8 million, or 1.3% less than they did in May of 2007.

MGM MIRAGE Inc. (MGM) has announced plans for a joint venture non-gambling hotel to be built in mainland China. Its partner will be Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

Still impacted by the smoking ban at its casinos, Colorado reported May revenues at its 42 casinos to have fallen 8.7% when compared to last year’s revenues.

Florida’s lottery has renewed the instant lottery ticket contract it has with Scientific Games Corp. (SGMS).
