Yesterday’s results

At Hollywood Park we ran one-two-three in race one, we lost our key play in race two, we had the winner in races three and four and ran one-two in race five with the $2 exacta paying $26.40. We also ran one-two in race six with the exacta paying $41.60 for $2. In race seven we did the right thing by staying away from the 50¢ on the dollar odds-on choice who finished third. Our key horse won in the last race but we were split in the exacta and tri. At Pleasanton, we had the winner in the first two races and hit our key play in race five when (Horses to Watch) HTW Cassie’s Mark stormed home for an easy win. We lost race six but had the winner in races seven, eight and nine.

Hollywood Park

Race 1

No. 9, Solar Miss, looks like a standout in this race and we would love to get the 5/2 morning line but I doubt it. No. 9

Key Play

$20 win and place No. 9 for $40

Race 2

Both No. 2, Victor’s Cr, and No. 5, Yankee Station, exit the same highly rated race and look one two in here. 2-5

Race 3: 1-2-7

Race 4

The 64th running of the Landaluce is very sad for me as I saw Landaluce run and she would have destroyed this weak bunch. 3-7-8

Race 5: 4-5-7

Race 6

No. 2, Cost of Freedom, and No. 11, Cherokee Tear, both exit the same race, a race in which Tear ran second and Freedom ran third, now Tear gets the best of the draw and is the one to beat in this race. No. 1A, Stand Tall, also exits that race and will look to upset. 1A-2-11

Race 7

This race looks like it is between No. 6, Dr. J J, and No. 7, Pictural. 6-7

Race 8

If No. 5, Barbecue Eddie, has recovered from his trip to Dubai, he will wire these, if not it could be our HTW up-and-comer No. 1, Forest Phantom, who ran a monster race on this track when storming home to win by more then five widening lengths. 1-5

Key Play

$20 Q 1-5 for $20

$10 win and place on No. 1 for $20

Race 9

No. 5, Romance is Diane, looks to rebound from a poor effort last time out and now going 7f it could get her home and at 8/1 in the morning line she is the play. No. 5

Key Play

$20 win and place on No. 5 for $40

Race 10

The 69th running of the Hollywood Gold Cup and we get fed another weak filed with the scratch of Heatseeker. Top trainer Bill Mott ships in No. 7, Go Between, whom Mott says is two works away from his best, so why run here if he is not ready? No. 4, Tiago, likes this course and looks to be sitting on a big effort. 4-7

Race 11

We have HTW No. 11, Ampys LiL Girl, who ran a winning race in her first start on June 6 and if able to run that race today or improve at all she will win. The danger will come from No. 12, North Rodeo, who hasn’t been seen since last year at Oak Tree when he ran third at 30¢ cents on the dollar. 11-12

Race 4

In this five-horse Alameda Handicap, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer has three of the five and that should be illegal; we will pass.

Race 5

No. 5, Steel the Honour, may offer a little betting value in this five-horse race but I would not go crazy.

Race 6: 1-2

Race 7: 2-4

Race 8

No. 5, Crouching Dragon, is a 6yo mare with one race, a third place finish last time out which was the first start of her career. She will be a short favorite in here on the Miyadi drop, beat her to win. 5

Race 9: 6-7

Race 10: 2-3-8

Race 11

No. 3, Call Her Kelly, will be odds on in here and looks like the winner at around a $3 payoff. No. 1, Surley Temple, has been turfing and may be legged up for a big closing kick if the others get into a speed duel. 1-3

Key Play

$10 Q 1-3 for $10

$10 win and place on No. 1 for $20
