The Indoor War arena football betting tips by Kevin Stott | The Wild Card round was halfway done at press time with New York advancing Friday with a big upset of Dallas and then Colorado ousting the Blaze (Adios $10 futures ticket at the Rio at 2000-1) on Saturday. After having a phenomenal regular season, the Desperados (12-4) and QB Dolezel were again bounced earlier than expected.
Division-winners San Jose (Western), Chicago (Central), Philadelphia (Eastern) and Georgia (Southern) all host WC game winners this weekend with the SaberCats opening up play on Saturday in SJ and the Soul hosting the Dragons in the City of Brotherly Love later that evening.
On Sunday, the Rush welcome either the Rattlers, Rampage or Crush (still to be determined at press time) to the Windy City in the Divisional round of play, and then the Force play host Monday to either Georgia or Orlando. Here are my impressions from a distance:
Philly has had a great season and is the favorite (5-2, Caesars Palace) to advance and win the ArenaBowl but I’m siding with the DRAGONS who aren’t scared of anyone and have some momentum now and could very well win outright. Take the points.
Chicago’s seemingly easy opponent will make the oddsmakers have them givingdouble-digits. Lay the lumber with the RUSH and the dominant defense (46.8 PPG, AFL-low).
Defending champs San Jose also had a yet to be determined opponent on Saturday afternoon and I’ll side with the SABERCATS unless they are facing the Crush.
Georgia gets the Orlando-Cleveland winner as a reward for its fine season and if so, this game will be a toss-up.
Points will be scored though so I’ll side with the OVER and take the FORCE if they’re playing the Gladiators but I side with the underdog PREDATORS and the points if they finally end up playing Georgia.
