by Staff & wire reports | Almost as if in defiance of an economic recession, Steve Wynn has hired Tim Poster and Tom Breitling to serve as senior vice presidents of strategy and development.

As long-standing business partners, Tim and Tom have together helped to pioneer the online travel industry with the development and ultimate sale of Travelscape to Expedia. The Las Vegas oriented travel company established a sales model that was eventually adopted and more fully exploited by the leading internet-based travel agencies.

More recently, the duo orchestrated the acquisition of the Golden Nugget, and turned their attention towards revitalizing this downtown casino property. As the principal operators, they expanded their knowledge and understanding of integrated resort operations and managed to reinvigorate this downtown resort.

Wynn said their collective experiences and their entrepreneurial drive, make them ideally suited to assist him as it prepares for another period of substantial growth and change.

"This is a very exciting time for our company as we prepare to expand both here in Las Vegas and in Asia," Wynn said. "Until now, weve only been limited by our human capital and our limited capacity to design, develop and operate resorts that live up to our standards. With the addition of Tim and Tom to our leadership team we have both improved our opportunities for success with our existing ventures and enhanced our ability to pursue new ones."

Wynn Resorts currently owns and operates Wynn Las Vegas and Wynn Macau, and is building Encore, a sister property to Wynn Las Vegas on the Strip. Encore is scheduled to open in early 2009.
