Mets -180 vs Rockies (9)

Extra innings turned our under pick into a push for last night’s Marlins-Dodgers game. It’s the final matchup before the All-Star break and the host Mets are riding a season-high eight-game winning streak. Even more good news for Mets fans is that righthander Mike Pelfrey is pitching. The Mets are 6-0 in his last six starts, outscoring the opposition 50-17. Meanwhile, Colorado has the worst road record in the majors at 14-35 so the break can’t come fast enough.

Lefthander Mark Redman has made two starts since a long stint on the DL with the Rockies going 1-1. The loss was a 7-3 decision at Milwaukee in his last outing. Historically, Colorado’s offense has been more productive at Coors Field and this year is another case in point. Of late, the Rocks have managed just two runs in their last three games. Not the right time to be facing a red-hot team or pitcher. The price is steep, so the 1½-run line may be in order. Otherwise, live large and spend $180 to win $100. METS.
