British More ‘Open’ Without Tiger

With Tiger Woods out of the British Open, it’s doubtful an USA golfer will win this week at Royal Birkdale. But give Anthony Kim (40-1) and Stewart Cink (18-1) a look. Sergio Garcia is the 7-1 favorite at Caesars Palace. Phil Mickelson, Padraig Harrington and Ernie Els are 8-1. Lee Westwood is 12-1. Watch Graeme McDowell at 80-1.

MATCHUPS: Here are some of the top matchups found at the Hilton SuperBook. Note that Phil Mickelson is not on the list. Garcia -130 vs Els (+110), Westwood -115 vs Harrington (+105), Justin Rose -110 vs Adam Scott (-110).

A-ROD/MADONNA PROP: No, not marriage. Lucky’s Race & Sports Book at Reno’s Grand Sierra Resort/Casino has a prop on how many career homers Alex Rodriguez has by Aug. 16, Madonna’s 50th b-day. Over 544½ is -110 as is the Under. A-Rod has 537.
