At Tropicana Field, Tampa Bay
Blue Jays -110 at Rays (7½)
Tampa Bay is 37-14 at home, including last night’s 2-1 win over Toronto. Yet, the Rays are an underdog. The reason: Roy Halladay. The past Cy Young Award winner is coming off back-to-back shutouts of Seattle and the New York Yankees. Toronto is 11-8 in Halladay’s outings and offensively has managed just 14 runs in their last four games.
Even though Tampa Bay ended its seven-game losing streak last night, things are still not what they were a few weeks ago. The offense has now gone eight straight games of scoring four runs or less. The Rays are just 8-9 overall when Matt Garza starts, but a much better 6-3 at home where the righthander has pitched his best ball. In two of Garza’s last three starts at the Trop, the opposition was held to one run. Last night’s game went below the total and this one shapes up the same way. UNDER.
