Baseball Betting Tip of the day Pittsburgh Pirates at Houston Astro - 7-21-08

Jul 21, 2008 7:30 PM

by GT Staff | Pittsburgh Pirates at Houston Astros (-145, 10o -115): Its a pitching matchup between John Van Benschoten (1-2, 9.77 ERA) and Runelvys Hernandez (0-3, 10.29) tonight in Houston, and with both hurlers having 17 letters in their names, it seems like an indication to bet the over. But a closer look at the ERAs of these two a combined 20.06 and its more like a scream to the over!

Houston just came off a series against the Cubs facing Lilly-Zambrano-Dempster so anyone the Rockies throw at the Astros it cant be staff ace Aaron Cook as he threw Sunday will be a welcome sight for a lineup that certainly can hit with guys like Tejada, Berkman, Pence and Lee. Coming off a sweep in Denver, Pittsburgh will look for a win, somehow and will try and get its bats going against a guy with an ERA higher that Miley Cyrus.

This game may go over early too and the odds of a complete game by either one of these guys is slim to none. Lets stay logical and bet the highest total of the day OVER and just sit back and watch the numbers come in like stock updates and hope for a 5-5 score at some point.
