Horse Racing Betting Tips by Richard Saber |

Yesterday’s results

At Del Mar we lost the early double, we it the tri and Q in race three and the double’s from race three to race four. We lost our double from race four to race five. We had a horrible beat in race six when No. 2 Grecian who went off at almost 9/1 got carried far wide by a loose horse which cost her the race and cost us big time. We lost race seven by a nostril as our tough beats continue. We did hit our $10 Q in the last race but if our key horse would have held on we would have hit a very good tri but he got beat at the wire by a half of a head. At Santa Rosa which is a beautiful place by the way and if you ever get a chance you should go for a little visit, we lost our early pick three but hit the dime super in race six and a Q. We lost the late double but saved the bet when we hit the dime super in the last race.

Del Mar

Race 1

No. 2, In the Forecast, looks like a very good bet to start the day. He was last seen facing the likes of Georgie Boy and Numismatist last July. He now makes his 3yo debut and his last work was a bomber, this one is ready for a big effort. The No. 3 Kaffeinantor and No. 4 Winning Yield are the main danger. 2-3-4

Key Play

$20 win and place No. 2 for $40

$10 key Q 2 with 3-4 for $20

$1 tri box 2-3-4 for $6

Race 2

No. 1, Goodbye Lucy, arrives from Belmont for trainer Lisa Lewis and this 3yo fillie just may like it here. No. 4 Harmony Creator took them wire to wire at this mile distance on the grass at Hollywood back in May and she looks to have found a nice spot for her return. No. 7 Four Paws is a consistent sort and looks like part of the mix. We will use all three in the early pick four and also use the No. 4 as a single. 1-4-7

Race 3

No. 1, Steppin Out Rose, was claimed for 32k on June 15 by R Hess ad now this 5yo mare returns for 10k all is not good but Hess does use his go to rider, Espinoza as he tries to wind and dump at the same time. No. 4 Twix looks live in here as she gets blinkers on and her trainer A C Avila usually pops with a few here at Del Mar. 1-4

Race 4

This really looks like a three horse race and we will take a good shot in this thirteen horse field. No. 3, Headed For Home, looks to be sitting on a big effort at a big price and gets a nice jockey change. No. 6, Stomp Dance, has high speed and will have to be caught. No. 10 Big Red Tate looks to be really on his game and will be stalking the speed from start to finish and his new jockey Solis is starting to ride lights out again. 3-6-10

Race 5

Wide open 40k maiden state bred 2yo fillies so anything can happen and it usually does. We will settle on No. 5 Trash Master who had a bad trip in her one and only. No. 7 Spanish Ice exits the same race, a race in which she showed good speed and held well, she may not stop today. We will use both in a small late pick four. 5-7

Race 6

In this eleven horse field going a flat mile on the grass there looks to be a lot of value in here. We will take our shot with No. 1 Mr. Chairman who has won two of his four starts on the grass and should get a great rail trip with Bejarano up. No. 6 California Flag jsu7t wired them going 6f on the Hollywood grass and will be very hard to run down if left alone on the front end. No. 8 Lockford is in from up North for trainer Morey Jr, this guy has won three of six on the grass and will be coming late with top grass jock Valdivia in the irons. 1-6-8

Key Play

$4 exacta box 1-6-8 for $24

$20 win and place 6 for $40

Race 7

This race is mucho tough even with the defections of Silver Stetson Man and Spot the Diplomat. No. 2 Barber had a horrible trip in his last and if able to steer clear of trouble he will be right there. No. 12 Canteen has been turfing with better and should be legged up to make a big late run, in a very wide open heat we take our best shot with these two. 2-12

Race 8

It looks like jockey Alex Solis who won the last race yesterday has a big shot at winning the last race today with No. 10 Threat who will be stretched out for the first time, she has big speed and if able to clear from her outside post this girl will be long gone. No. 7 Tuner routed ok last time out and if she can move forward off that race she will be a late threat to threat. 7-10
