Giants -105 vs D’backs (6½)
The 6½ total is usually reserved for a Jake Peavy start, but not so today. The books rightly figure this All Star matchup between Brandon Webb and Tim Lincecum is likely to produce a 1-0, 2-1 or 3-2 outcome. While both pitchers figure to bring their A-game, a look at the side might be in our best interest. Arizona has been feasting off NL West teams all season, easily owning the best mark within the division at 23-12.
Actually the Giants are the one team that has given the Diamondbacks fits, sweeping a three-game series at Phoenix in late May. However, in Frisco, Arizona is 3-1 including last night’s 10-2 victory. Webb lost his first start after the All Star break, but should be back to his normal routine. Arizona is 13-8 in his starts. Lincecum also lost his one matchup after the break. The Giants are 14-7 in his outings. It’s hard to bet against the D’backs when their ace faces a division foe. D’BACKS.
