Wednesday, July 30 results

At Del Mar the only thing we could muster was a $5 exacta winner in race seven that paid $22.80 for one dollar. We will once again have a carryover in the Pick Six of $138,349. At Santa Rosa our key horse in Race 7 was a late scratch and canceled out our plays.

Race 1

Trainer Gary Stute pulled one off on Wednesday with a horse called Pawnee and now has No. 3, General Dan, in this race who he claimed for 25K at Solano. This guy has some run but seems to settle for minor awards but Gary is 27% first off the claim so we will take a shot. Trainer Wesley Ward don’t claim many but when he does he knows where to put them, he sends out No. 4 Lord in Command. 3-4

Race 2

No. 6, Major Smoke, comes back fast as he just ran here on July 20 finishing third, jockey Bejarano sticks and the blinkers come off. NO. 6

Key Play

Race 3

This is leg one of the Pick Six and we will play since there look to be some good singles on the card. In here the No. 1, Carson’s Copper, is speed on the rail but the speed has been getting caught and there are several in here that will be out winging. No. 5, Byjohn, showed some explosive late run in his last and will be flying at them late. No. 6, Superfecta, is dropped like a hot potato by Mike Mitchell who just may be playing a little poker here. We will use both in the Pick Six. 5-6

Race 4

No. 3, One Only, is as consistent as they get with five wins from 15 lifetime starts, he comes back quick and gets off the grass. No. 6, Fantasy Free, drops to his lowest level and is stretched out to the distance of his only win. 3-6

Race 5

In here No. 2, One Track Mind, lost at 20 cents on the dollar last time out and his price wont be much higher today as Mullins drops him to the bottom tying to cash. We will single in the Pick Six. No. 2

This one is real wide open and we will go deep using No. 1 Cherie’s Dream who will be coming late if she don’t get in trouble from her rail post. No. 5 Kentucky Waltz first off the Mullins claim and he confidently moves her up in class. No. 8 Warren’s Adventure who turns back in distance and gets off the grass as she double drops in class. No. 9 Kimmy’sklassylady who was a fast closing fifth last time out and No. 10 Steppin Out Rose who is dropped in half after being claimed for 32K by Hess. 1-5-8-9-10

Race 7

I just can’t imagine that Bob Baffert is 0-16 at Del Mar, a track that he use to own. I do believe that he will break that streak today with No. 5 Cry and Catch Me who was last seen running in the GR1 OakLeaf at the Oaktree Meet at Santa Anita last September, the word is, this girl is ready. No. 5

Race 8

No. 7, Stag On the Run, is brought back in just five days by trainer Mullins something you don’t see often, he has found a very weak field to finally get that elusive first win. No. 6 I’m Bulletproof looks live off the layoff. 6-7
