Cubs -140 vs Cardinals (8)

After seeing the Giants score two in the tenth to beat us last night, well try to even the score in this Sunday night ESPN matchup. It will be a prime time examination of St. Louis righty Chris Carpenter, the NLs Cy Young Award winner in 2005 who is coming back from Tommy John surgery. Carpenter has thrown just nine innings since his return, but has allowed just one run. More importantly, St. Louis won both of his starts.

The Cubs counter with Ryan Dempster, a Cy Young candidate this season. The Cubs are 15-8 in games Dempster has started, but have lost in each of his past three outings. Dempster has been dynamite at home, but the innings may be taking a toll. Its a big game in the NL Central race, especially for the Cardinals. Each team has won once in the series and we like the nice underdog price on a quality pitcher when right. CARDS.
