by Ray Poirier | Scientific Games Corp. (SGMS) now faces at least two lawsuits dealing with the "quick picks" wagering scandal that left bettors without the opportunity of including favored Big Brown in their Kentucky Derby Superfecta wagers.

Two California residents filed the lawsuits seeking damages from the totalizator company that was involved in the wagering snafu. The company has accepted responsibility for the error; paid a fine and agreed to reimburse horseplayers who can provide ticket stubs showing their participation in the Derby Superfecta.

One lawsuit complains that Scientific Games provided no relief "to California bettors who do not have their ticket stubs."
