La-Lafayette +24½ at Illinois: Is this a first quarter line? ILL.

Rice +7 at Vanderbilt: Rice can score against anyone and catches Vandy celebrating last week’s home win over South Carolina. RICE.

Auburn -10½ at Miss St: State has had two weeks to forget La Tech. Auburn has LSU at home next week. Watch out. MISS ST.

Nevada -26½ at Missouri: Nevada may want to delay scheduling the Big 12. Texas Tech last week, now Chase Daniel and the Tiger machine. MISSOURI.

UAB +29½ at Tennessee: The Vols will see U and think UCLA. It’s Rocky Top all over Birmingham. TENNESSEE.

Temple +6½ at Buffalo: Both programs on the upswing, but the line move up from 4 puts me with the Owls. TEMPLE.

Ohio St +10½ at USC: Were the Buckeyes playing possum? We hope so. The Hilton’s line on this game a few weeks ago was USC -4½. OHIO ST.

NC State +18½ at Clemson: The Tigers will think Citadel was tough. Maybe the Wolfpack will go scoreless against the entire state of South Carolina. CLEMSON.

Michigan PK at ND: The opening line of Michigan -4 may have been the most offbeat in years. At even, it’s still a bargain. Charlie Weis must win this game. ND.

E. Carolina -13 at Tulane: Big letdown here for ECU. Green Wave off a cover against an uninspired Alabama team off the Clemson win. Same here. TULANE.

Dolphins +7 at Cards: Miami will find that playing in the desert is a lot different than the beach. Arizona 2-0? Believe it. CARDS.

Bears +6½ at Panthers: Both off huge upset wins on the road. Carolina may be overvalued after beating San Diego. BEARS.

Packers -1 at Lions: Yes, I hate Detroit for costing me a $600 parlay. Should have known the Lions still can’t win on the road. But they’re home as a dog! LIONS.

NY Giants at Rams (41½): St. Louis has offensive problems, but we knew that. Can’t see the Rams getting more than 10, which makes the 41½ inviting. UNDER.

Ravens -5½ at Texans: Houston was never in the Pittsburgh game, but it’s just one loss. A 1-1 start for a franchise on the upswing isn’t so bad. TEXANS.

Eagles +7 at Cowboys: TYes, Dallas cleaned Cleveland’s clock. But, Philly silenced the Lambs. It’s Game 2 and both McNabb and Westbrook are healthy. EAGLES.
