Red Sox -145 vs Blue Jays (10)
With six doubleheaders on the bill today due to numerous rainouts last night, we’ll celebrate with a parlay pick. The Red Sox bring back the hefty one, Bartolo Colon, who has spent most of the season on the disabled list. Colon’s 4-1, 3.41 ERA is solid, but it’s anyone’s guess how sharp the hard throwing righty will be coming off the shelf.
On the other hand, Toronto righty Jesse Litsch has feasted on the Red Sox during his brief career. Litsch is 4-1 lifetime and 3-0 with a 1.53 ERA the last three times he has faced the defending World Series champs. While the past is good, the present isn’t too shabby either. Litsch is 2-1 with a 1.99 ERA against the world in his last three outings.
Toronto is still clinging to its fading Wild Card hopes and the 10 runs seem high considering Litsch’s track record and a good Red Sox bullpen. BLUE JAYS/UNDER.
