by GT Staff | New York Mets (-180, 9u -115) at Washington Nationals: With a five-game losing skid and the aforementioned worst record in baseball (56-93), betting against the Nationals has almost become a Play of the Day tradition this baseball season. Tonight Washington sends John Lannan (8-13) to the hill against the Amazin’s who are trying hard to hold on to their lead in the NL East. In his last start, righty Lannan was shelled and the last five times he has been given the ball he has disappointed, as his nasty 7.82 ERA reveals.
Heading to the pitcher’s mound for New York is crafty veteran Pedro Martinez (5-4, 5.54 ERA) and although he doesn’t have much career experience against the Nats, expect Pedro to continue his rehab here by getting some decent innings in against them.
NY is 7-4 in its last 11 game while the home team here is just 3-8. This ain’t brain surgery we’re doing here people – let the trend be your friend… METS -190.
