Yankee Stadium, New York
Yankees -230 vs Orioles (10)
Okay, so the Astros stunk it up yesterday at Pittsburgh. The loss hurt Houston a lot more than it did us. Today’s selection is a no brainer. Nothing is etched in stone but if the good Lord is not occupied by Sarah Palin’s website or the Wall Street collapse, the Yankees just can’t lose their last ever game in The House That Ruth Built.
Derek Jeter may have a dinged up finger, but no way he’s not pointing to be at shortstop and taking something from the Stadium that he says is bigger than a breadbox. For us, we’ll settle for a winning ticket at the window. We’re backing Andy Pettitte, 94-42 lifetime at Yankee Stadium. Yes, Pettitte has been awful this month but he’s always been a big game pitcher and this qualifies as a major moment. Baltimore counters with rookie Chris Waters (3-3), who should be muddy before it’s done. YANKS -1½
