Baseball Betting Tip of the Angels at Mariners 09-22-08

Sep 22, 2008 7:55 PM

by GT Staff | Los Angeles Angels (-155, 8) at Seattle Mariners: This AL West matchup may not be worth watching, but worth a small play on Anaheim. The Angels have had the best road record (46-30) in the Bigs all year and with Ervin Santana (15-6, 3.33 ERA) on the mound have a good chance of winning this one at Safeco Field. The right-hander is 2-0 in four starts versus the M’s with a respectable 2.48 ERA.

On the mound for Seattle is Ryan Rowland-Smith a southpaw who has an impressive run of six straight quality starts – the highest number since Jamie Moyer did so back in 2006. With inspiration low and LA having nothing to play for, betting UNDER the total of 8 may be worth a look.

As far as a side, the visitors has to be the call as the Angels have won 9 of 11 and have won four straight headed into tonight, while the lowly Mariners have lost 11 in a row and have supplanted the Nationals as the worst team in MLB (57-98). It’s simple folks: Take the best team in baseball against the worst… ANGELS -155.
