Giants -170 vs Rockies (7)
San Francisco is a heavy favorite and with good reason. Tim Lincecum (17-4, 2.46 ERA) probably won’t win the Cy Young, but he’s deserving. The Bay Area’s answer to Roy Oswalt has fanned 243 for a club currently 16 games below .500. A victory for the Giants would pull them even with Colorado for third in the NL West.
Colorado counters with its stud righthander Ubaldo Jimenez, who has rebounded from a horrible start to produce an 11-12 record and 4.12 ERA. Jimenez has won his last two starts so runs figure to be at a premium. However, we’re not willing to make a call on the 7. Instead, we’ll ride the big arm of Lincecum, who is 3-1 lifetime against the Rockies. GIANTS.
