On the Cheap by H Scot Krause | Mandalay Bay will continue its free film series into October. Las Vegas tourists and locals alike can grab a beach towel, don their flip-flops and dive into a free movie at Mandalay Bay Beach this October.
Guests age 21 and up can watch classic scary movies while floating in Mandalay Bay’s wave pool or lounging beachside on real sand. Here’s a look at what will be playing:
Fri., Oct. 3: "Scream"
Fri., Oct. 10: "Friday the 13th"
Fri., Oct. 17: "The Ring"
Fri., Oct. 24: "The Shining"
Fri., Oct. 31: "Saw"
Gates open at 7 p.m. and showtime is 8. All scheduled movies are rated "R" for adult material.
Hawaiian Tropic Zone, located inside the Miracle Mile Shops at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, adds Latin flavor to the Las Vegas Strip with weekly salsa parties every Wednesday beginning at 9 p.m. You can enjoy Latin beats and sip on $4 daiquiris, mojitos and Cuba Libres. Bottle specials include $100 bottles of Bacardi and $150 bottles of tequila Cazadores.
Fiesta Rancho is offering ½ point dining for the Fiesta Buffet through Sept. 26. Players who pay for the lunch or dinner buffet using their points save half of the normal point redemption.
Arizona Charlie’s Boulder and Arizona Charlie’s Decatur are also offering A.C.E. Rewards Club members a 50 percent point redemption discount at the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets in September.
Every Thursday in September, Seasons Buffet at Silverton Casino Lodge features an authentic Polynesian dinner menu beginning at 4 p.m. For $21.99 or $19.99 with Discovery Club card, guests can enjoy Kailua pork, macadamia crusted mahi-mahi, huli-huli chicken, lomi lomi salmon, Hawaiian rolls, pineapple upside-down cake, mango cheesecake and more.
Guests can start with garden-fresh selections from the salad bar, continue to a wide variety of delicious hand-prepared entrées and end with dozens of made-from-scratch desserts.
