Kansas City Royals at Minnesota Twins (-230, 8½ LVH):
The Twinkies are fighting for the AL Central crown and a postseason berth while the Royals are fighting to stay out of last place in the division. Minnesota protects its home turf (51-26) and needs to be motivated with just two games left on the schedule tonight.
KC has been playing good lately, going 9-2 in its last 11 and fighting hard not to finish in last place in the division. The season series has been dominated by the Twins, going 11-4 and 4-2 at home headed into this season series finale. Also, Minnesota has been great at the Metrodome lately, winning 11 of its last 15 there.
With so much at stake for the Twins and the home team’s recent domination over the Royals, the advantage goes to Minnesota not only for tonight, but for the entire series – but it won’t be easy. Tonight, Twins ace Francisco Liriano (6-3) gets the nod against KC so this is the best game of the three to ride the homeboys. And as far as momentum, no team has the energy Minny has in terms of fighting for a shot at the postseason TWINS.
