OAK TREE at SANTA ANITA
Note: After two days of racing on the new Pro Ride track at Santa Anita we will have a two day pick six carryover of $349,176.
This is one hard way to start the day as we have statebred maidens going 1 mile on the grass, there are only two that have had races on the grass, No. 2, River Lord, who finished third at Hollywood in June and No. 1A Powerofvoodoo who has four seconds and three thirds from eighteen turf attempts and he may not get in as she is on the also list. No. 3 Gooch’s Dream is being stretched out and may take to the trip and No. 5 King Of the Green is a lightly raced 4yo gelding who is aptly named to be a turf runner. No. 7 Warrens A P Strike gets Gomez and that’s a plus.
Five are listed to go in this 6 ½ sprint, the tow that look the best are No. 3 Rosangela who gets off the grass and won her only start on the Del Mar artificial surface and she may like the change. No. 4, Peppermint Lounge, is the one to beat. 3-4
No. 2, Plata Quemada, exits our HTW list and looks to have a big shot with this bunch of 10k claimers. No. 3, Colominas, likes to win races and arrives from Emerald Downs for high percentage trainer Mike Chambers, this one is ready to run with Bejarano up. No. 7 Bold Cleo has scary speed and No. 8 Blushing Bear Cat will be putting in her patented late run. 2*-3**-7-8
No. 1 Ballestero gets the rail and Gomez for this 1 1/8 turf route, he likes to hang but Gomea will be all over him down the lane. No. 8 Antique Avenue is lightly raced and coming off a big maiden breaker. 1-8
This one could be the pick six breaker as it is as wide open as you can get with all ten horses having a shot. Trainer Mike Mitchell brought back a big layoff horse on opening day and he has No. 2 Specific Rule who has not seen the starter since Sept of 06’. No. 5 Sorcerers Spell takes a big drop in class for trainer O’Neill and may wake up big time. No. 6 Silver Vista is the second of two Mitchell trainees in here and this one takes a big drop and gets Rosario to ride, he must be on go. No. 8 Winning Tactics is first off the Hollendorfer claim and that is a .31% move, he uses the Chicago bug boy Brandon Meir. No. 10 Unusual Jail exits our HTW list and could pop at a huge price.
Statebred maiden 2yo fillies, if the last race didn’t get you in the pick six then this race could. Of the girls that have run none of been near par for this type of race so maybe a first time starter will pop, but they don’t look like much. No. 6 Grey Lassie is a second time starter and she looks like she can run a little and could improve off her last. No. 8 Burna Dette gets back with her statebred friends and will run better today. No. 9 Hot N’ Dusty exits our HTW list, this one is headstrong and very hard to load, if she gets into the gate with no problems she wins. 6-8-9
$2 exacta box 6-8-9
No. 1 Porto Santo finds a much easier spot, No. 2 Blue Exit is a French import that looks to have some class and also has a bullet work leading up to this race. 1-2**
What a way to finish the big pick six carryover, maiden 2yo fillies running for a claiming price of 32k, this requires the all button. No. 5 Merge is a first time starter with Danny Sorenson in the irons as he starts his comeback. No. 6 Angel Wreath 12/1 on the morning line could light it up. No. 10 Rocket Candy is a first timer out of the O’Neill barn that gets Bejarano, this one looks fast. 5-6-10
GOLDEN GATE FIELDS
No. 1 Cotati and No. 6 Specalist Morgan J both take big drops, No. 5 Uaredneck also may be live at a price. 1-5-6
No. 2 Roar’s Rocket has been working with a purpose, No. 1 Kiki’s Dance is the one to beat at what will be a short price. 1-2
Race 3: 4-5-6
Race 4: 1-3-7-8
1-3-5-6, No. 5 Greenstone just broke her maiden and could be very live at a price with this crew.
No. 3 Newmoneyspentwell gets blinkers on for trainer Miyadi, No. 6 Smokinjomoko and No. 8 Stars Belle exit the same race. 3-6-8
No. 6 Exclusive Danielle takes a big class drop for trainer Hollendorfer and looks like a short price winner. Hollendorfer also sends out No. 1 Butterfly Belle who may be the speed, she does have a second on this course, losing by a nose at a mile on the grass back in June. 1-6
No. 1 San Miguel King loves to run second and third, use him underneath in the exotics. No. 2 Rydell is always right there. No. 4 Mandate to Fly is the fastest horse in the race and gets blinkers on for Hollendorfer on the drop. No. 7 Tovar could light it up. 2-4-7/1
8th 2-4-7 for $12
